Vietnam War Exhibit & Education Center A Tribute to the Vietnam Veteran
The exhibit presents the Vietnam "experience" and "journey" that has continued to this day.
This "legacy" is preserved through a comprehensive collection of hundreds of authentic artifacts used "in country." There are displays dedicated to the diverse weapons used and also to those "docs" and nurses who served.
The Vietnam "experience."
Represents that first step off the plane to begin a twelve or thirteen-month "tour of duty."
Until, in somewhat disbelief, your "rotation" home and you take that first step to enter your "freedom bird" to begin your flight home.
However, Vietnam was not over when you reached the land of the "big PX."
The "journey"
The impact of a Vietnam "tour of duty" became life-altering for many veterans. We would only learn years later the true significance of our service. There are exhibits dedicated to PTSD and its symptoms - Agent Orange and its medical impact. There is also an exhibit dedicated to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.
Education Center
The media-the protesters-congressional hearings and movies all imposed their own spins and takes on the Vietnam War and its soldiers. Often for ratings or profit and it was the veteran who lived with the misconception created. The exhibit addresses and clarifies many of the misconceptions. __________________________________________________
